Question by β is ρuяρlε™: What is the longest you’ve ever had a supply teacher for?
For me, it was actually last year when we had one for an entire term because our real teacher was teaching at another school (I guess she didn’t like us). In high school, it’s been 3 days. Our homeroom English teacher hasn’t shown up at all and we’ve had 5 supply teachers.
You?
Supply and sub are the same thing. I guess they call it supply in Canada.

My geography teacher last year got gastric bypass surgery.
She was out for 3 weeks.
Edit: I got detention for calling throwing a book cover at him. When really it was just in him “general area”. Wimp. xD

1 month. Out teacher went into early labor and we had a supply that we didn’t think we’d need, so It was kinda last minute. She was the meanest teacher i ever had. Eww. She was old and gross and cranky. ;/

One year! We had lack of school teachers at our school, so they had to hire out supply teachers whilst they tried to find other qualified teachers. They didn’t do any good and that’s what made me fail my RE GCSE exam, mostly. Because she didn’t know what the hell she was doing or talking about.

I think it was a few months, our technology teacher got really ill, I think it happened from February till the end of that year, and it was GSCE year, too.

What’s a supply teacher? We call it substitute. And I have one now and she’ll be here for another 6 weeks.

In my last most important year at sixth form, my chemistry teacher was diagnosed with MS, we had a supply teacher who knew nothing about chemistry for the whole year.
Unsurprisingly we all failed.

the school i went to last year had a supply teacher that had been there for 3 years (maybe more, idk) because the teacher he ws filling in for went on vacation and never came back.
i was there for 3 years and none of us even knew he was a sub until the year we left for high school we found out he was leaving because he didnt actually have a permanent job there.
which sucks because he was a great teacher…i never had a class with him but everyone loved him .
The longest I’ve had a supply teacher for was i think just over half the year because our first teachers mom died so she was visiting her father.
we hated the sub teacher…he actually threatened to kill us…he was joking of course…but he was really scary o.o

When I was in 8th grade we had one for like three months in Language Arts. Our teacher had a heart attack and had to have dialysis for a really long time. And man did I hate our sub! She really didn’t like kids. That was obvious. I don’t understand that…why people teach and sub when they don’t even like kids!! It makes no sense.
Anywho, yeah. It was really tedious. Busy work for three months without really learning anything.
