What jobs can a teacher leaving teaching go into?

Question by lollipops_mum: What jobs can a teacher leaving teaching go into?
I am a teacher, currently head of two departments managing 11 staff in a secondary school. I want to leave teaching but have no idea what other careers I am qualified to go into without taking too much of a pay cut. I have a business law degree and a Masters degree, am a qualified teacher with 7 years experience. What can I do and where are these jobs advertised?

Thanks in advance if you answer.

If you like books, go work at a library. That is what I did….no homework!

what do you like doing, other than teaching? YOU need to ask yourself. the greatest blessing you can have is; to be paid to do what you like doing. if you are a teacher, then you should know, how and where to look for a new line of work. you do not need anyone to tell you. you need to look inside of self, and then you will know where, and what you are going to do. good luck in what ever it maybe.

I have thought about going into the Teaching career, but I have heard that it’s not as rewarding as it used to be. I would like to teach Elementary students, I think that’s a good age to lead them in the right ways in life. So why are you leaving?
The type of careers you could do would be: social work, something maybe in law, HR, or working for the feds.

As an experienced teacher you may find these two options suitable because they have something to to with guidance; one is a real estate agent and the other a tour guide.

As a fellow educator, I would have to say that you can do Corporate Training. That was my first teaching position until jobs opened in the school districts.
